Operation: Saucer
Brazil’s Other Alien Story
While Roswell is known worldwide, few outside Brazil have heard of what happened in 1977 along the Amazon river. Known as Operação Prato, the mission was led by the Brazilian Air Force in response to disturbing reports from local villagers — lights in the sky, burn marks on people’s bodies, objects that defied physics, and even alleged abductions.
What makes this story so terrifying is its tone: not discovery, but fear. These weren’t distant lights — they were described as hunting, chasing, attacking. Locals lived in dread. Even seasoned military personnel reported sightings and unexplained events.
The operation was eventually shut down — but many documents remained classified for decades. And the commanding officer who led the mission, Captain Uyrangê Hollanda, gave a bombshell interview before dying under strange circumstances.

What Would a Film Look Like?
In my view, this deserves to be a dramatic, intense, and unsettling feature film — not a flashy alien blockbuster, but a story built on dread and confusion, like Super 8, Arrival, or even The Blair Witch Project.
Picture a small town in the Amazon. People begin to vanish. Others return with burns they can’t explain. A military squad is deployed to investigate — but what they find isn’t just beyond science… it’s beyond control. And worse, they may be next.
It wouldn’t be just about aliens. It would be about fear of the unknown, the psychological unraveling of soldiers, and the haunting silence of a government unwilling to talk. The story could focus on a young soldier, caught between orders and the terrifying truth he sees unfolding.
This isn’t just entertainment. It’s based on real documents, real testimony, and a legacy that still echoes today in ufology communities around the world.
Why Hasn’t It Happened Yet?
No major studio has dared to tell this story with the weight and respect it deserves. Brazil’s most famous alien case deserves better. With the right budget, tone, and casting, Operation: Saucer could become a global success — and finally give this historical mystery the attention it needs.
Would you like to see Operation Saucer become a film?
